A subscription fleet platform with its own cameras

# BSJ against Samsara

This is not a hardware comparison — it is a business-model one. Samsara sells the fleet a subscription and owns the relationship. We sell you a camera and get out of the way.

Platform, per vehicle per month

€0

Samsara: €82

Three years, one vehicle

€169

Samsara: €3,429

The three years after it

## Three years of one vehicle, at their list price

This is the only chart on the site where our bar is hard to see, and that is the whole argument. A subscription is not dearer hardware; it is a different thing being sold.

BSJ EH26 and FleetSight

€169

The camera at the 50–199 tier. Your SIM and your support are yours to price

Samsara at list, dual AI dash cam and the platform

€3,429

$548 of hardware up front and $94 a vehicle a month for thirty-six months

€0 €1,000 €2,000 €3,000

Our camera, once Their hardware, once Their platform, thirty-six times

Samsara at $39 for GPS and ELD plus $55 for a dual AI dash cam, from public procurement records, converted at $1.147 to the euro on 22 September 2026. Real deals are discounted, sometimes heavily — ask the customer what they were actually quoted. Ours is the camera once, and a platform with no licence line.

## The short answer, row by row

| | BSJ via FleetSight | Samsara |
| --- | --- | --- |
| How it is bought | Hardware once, platform included, no contract term | Per vehicle per month, typically on a 36-month commitment |
| Published price | €145–189 to the integrator, by annual volume | $39 a month for GPS and ELD, plus $55 for a dual AI dash cam — $94 at list before discount |
| Three years, one vehicle | One camera at €145–189, and nothing after that | About $3,400 at list, plus $99–548 of hardware up front |
| The product itself | Event review, live view, SD pull, coaching, white-label, iOS app | Deeper: coaching workflows, compliance, maintenance, an app ecosystem and support a fleet can call |
| Whose customer it is | Yours, under your brand and your domain | Theirs. You would be reselling somebody else's platform, if they let you |
| Where the video lives | Your tenant on our infrastructure, or your own bucket | Their cloud, on their retention terms |

## When to buy theirs instead

- For a large fleet that wants one vendor, one support number and compliance in North America, Samsara is a better answer than anything an integrator assembles. Say so and compete elsewhere.
- Their coaching and driver-scoring product is years ahead of ours. If that workflow is the reason the customer is buying, the price gap will not save the deal.
- The $94 figure is list from public procurement records; real deals are discounted. Ask the customer what they were actually quoted before you build a business case on it.
- A US reseller lists the CM32 licence and camera together at $660 a year, which is $55 a month — the same dash cam line as above, from a second direction. That is the one part of the figure we would defend without a caveat.

## Where the numbers come from

- [Samsara pricing broken down from public records](https://airpinpoint.com/compare/samsara-pricing)

- [Samsara fleet management review, 2026](https://tech.co/fleet-management/samsara-fleet-management-review)

Read on 22 September 2026. Distributor prices are theirs, not the manufacturer's, and both move; euro figures converted at $1.147 where the source quoted dollars. If you have a current quote that says otherwise, it wins and we want to see it.

Our side of the table

## The models this page has been arguing about

Every figure above is one of these three. The specification on each page is transcribed from the manufacturer's own product page, with a link to it at the bottom so you can check the transcription rather than trust it.

### EH26

2-CH AI dash cam

The workhorse. Two 1080p channels with road and driver events on board.

### EH03T-V2

4-CH AI dash cam

Four channels and 2.0 TOPS of AI in a dash cam body, with two card slots.

 The specification →

### ED02R-V2

4-CH AI MDVR

Four channels with real-time upload and two card slots.

Then there are the two questions a price never answers: [what the fitting involves and what it costs](https://fleetsight.app/installation/), and [which platforms these run on today](https://fleetsight.app/compatibility/).

## The other comparisons

### Streamax

AI dash cams and MDVRs, sold through distribution

The benchmark in this class: €284–397 a camera and €4.49–11.21 a month on top.

### Howen

AI dash cams and MDVRs, sold through telematics platforms

Same channel, same class of hardware — they lead on connectors, we lead on price and platform.

[Howen](https://fleetsight.app/compare/howen/)

### Teltonika DualCam

A camera accessory for a Teltonika tracker

The lowest-friction option for a Teltonika shop — and the smallest amount of video you can sell.

[Teltonika DualCam](https://fleetsight.app/compare/teltonika-dualcam/)

### Jimi IoT

4G dash cams sold to integrators and fleets

Similar channel counts on paper; the difference is what is standard and what is an option.

### Movon MDAS-9

An ADAS warning module that feeds a tracker

A Tier-1 ADAS warning module — excellent at warnings, not a video system.

### Hikvision mobile DVR

Security-brand mobile recorders, sold through CCTV distribution

The default onboard recorder in Latin America — strong hardware, somebody else's ecosystem.

### Intelbras iFleet

The Brazilian incumbent: DVR veicular with local support

Brazil's default: local brand, local RMA, 720p on the entry recorder.
